Mairen - In the weekend Mairen went camping. She saw a wee rabbit and she caught it. They called the rabbit Isabelle. They also got some ice cream for dessert.
Brianna - I've got two dogs and one cat. When we go home the dogs go all psycho and jump on us. The dogs are called Bonny and Amy.
Connor - "I got a green ball from my mum. I also got a fake credit card. The credit card is so you can get money from your bank account" explained Connor.
Aaliyah - "I've got a buddy and she has a wee black kitten. My buddy has got kids. The kitten is cute and super scratchy. My buddy's name is Jillian."

Week 1 news
Aaliyah - "I got an MP3 player for Christmas". Aaliyah's whole family got ipods. Aaliyah's Grandma and Grandpa gave her the Mp3. It is red.
Jessie - Jessie got a cat from Dunedin. She had to go to the hospital because she had a burst ear drum. She went to sleep for the operation, and got an ice block when she woke up.
Teo - "I went camping for three days". Dad said we would get two desserts but we only got one! We had an ice cream for dessert.
Isobel - Isobel went camping for two days. Her bike got run over, but they don't know who did it. Isobel slept in a tent with her family.

Dear Parents
My name is Sarah Blackford, and I am teaching in Room 9 for all of 2009. I grew up in Queenstown and went away to study at Canterbury then Otago, and I am very happy to be back in Queenstown! We have a busy start to the year with Outdoor Education Week which is a highlight for the children. Room 9 will also be having a free swimming session on Thursday the 12th of February so please remember to pack the children’s swim gear.
I look forward to meeting you and getting to know the twenty new members of Room 9. If you have any questions please do not hesitate to pop in to have a quick chat or to make an appointment.
Just a few points of information:
There will shortly be a Room 9 blog up and running. You can view this at

Scholastic and Lucky Book pamphlets will be coming home next week. Orders will only go through if paid by cheque or credit card.
Library day is Monday.
P.E. is on a Wednesday.
Spelling books will go home on a Friday and need to come back the following Friday.
